The Director of Athletic Marketing & Community Relations is responsible for managing the athletic marketing and corporate partnerships for Hillsdale College athletics. Functions to include development and execution of an athletics marketing plan and corporate partnerships through local, regional and national partners as well as promotion of Charger athletics through all media means. This position is responsible for the manner in which Charger athletics is perceived by fans, partners, parents and colleagues.
Day-to-day, nonpartisan and objective promotion of department, staff and student athletes, through any media source that affords attention to Charger athletics in conjunction with Director of Athletic Communications Promote and improve the Charger athletic brand through social, digital, print and other avenues through local, regional and national outlets More specifically, management and promotion of communications for community events, department activities and other related events. Emphasis to be placed on distribution of content to local, county, regional and national media outlets Management of weekly and postgame student-athlete and coach interview programming. Manage and schedule team media days to include team and individual photos, interviews, video content and any other media related needs. Provide support as administrator at away from home competitions as needed -- specific emphasis on conference (GMAC), NCAA regional and national competitions. Recruit, supervise, and train interns and student workers. Student workers for specific game day responsibilities, writing, video/photo content. Further develop athletic marketing and corporate sponsorship plan to generate revenue, create positive game environment, and actively promote Charger athletics and its student-athletes and coaches. Directly oversee in-game promotions plan and team for team sport competitions. Oversee corporate partnerships program – identification and negotiation of partner deals, execution of plans. Development and implementation of annual athletics marketing plan. Manage the preparation and distribution of game day programs and schedule cards/posters. Responsible for preparation and management of budgets for Athletics Marketing, Corporate Partnerships and Athletic Communications in conjunction with Assoc AD Business Management.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Sport Management or related field required. Previous experience in an athletic communications/sports marketing department preferred. Experience with website content management and social media management, and Adobe suite preferred. Previous experience in a leadership role and some level of video production knowledge is also a plus.
Must be able to ambulate, step, climb, stoop, bend twist and carry heavy objects (i.e. equipment) over uneven terrain.
Must be able to hear, see, talk, read and communicate with Hillsdale College colleagues, athletes, prospective athletes, donors and other constituents orally and in writing.
Must be able to safely lift up to 50+ pounds of equipment regularly.
Knowledge of NCAA rules & regulations.
Knowledge of PrestoSports platform
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to express effectively ideas orally and in writing.
General knowledge of statistical applications used in NCAA sports
