Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations, the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing has the responsibility for developing and executing promotional/marketing plans for all Varsity Athletic Teams.
Develop and maintain game scripts and PA books for assigned sports, serving as in-game director and event manager
Plan for promotional game day activities (including halftime entertainment and musical entertainment)
Coordinate annual events such as Furman Football Fan Fest and Midnight Madness
Coordinate with Van Wagner representatives and event sponsors on in-game promotions and announcements
Organize & execute Furman Athletics' social media marketing & promotional plan including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat & TikTok
Responsible for hiring, scheduling, and paying independent contractors that work with Furman Athletics for Marketing (i.e., on-court emcee and DJ) Manage Sports Marketing budget.
Supervise the Assistant Director of Sports Marketing
Oversee and assist in the creation of marketing graphics using Adobe Cloud programs; pro? vide direction on the vision of each promotion per sport.
Oversee Marketing’s Internship and Practicum Student Program. Including, but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising student interns responsible for assisting in daily operation of marketing and fan engagement.
Responsible for screening music played during pregame for assigned sports.
The Director of Video Services is responsible for overseeing Furman Athletics’ video streaming and broadcasting efforts, as well as coordinating videoboard operations at all venues for home athletic events and special events. The Director of Video Services supervises two positions in broadcasting and creative services and is a key member of the External Operations team.
