Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletics Director for External Operations, the Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing has the responsibility for developing and executing promotional/marketing plans for all Varsity Athletic Teams.

Job Description:

• Develop and maintain game scripts and PA books for assigned sports, serving as in-game director and event manager

• Plan for promotional game day activities (including halftime entertainment and musical entertainment)
• Coordinate annual events such as Furman Football Fan Fest and Midnight Madness

• Coordinate with Van Wagner representatives and event sponsors on in-game promotions and announcements

• Organize & execute Furman Athletics social media marketing & promotional plan including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat & TikTok

• Responsible for hiring, scheduling, and paying independent contractors that work with Furman Athletics for Marketing (i.e., on court emcee and DJ) Manage Sports Marketing budget.

• Supervise the Assistant Director of Sports Marketing

• Oversee and assist in the creation of marketing graphics using Adobe Cloud programs; pro? vide direction on the vision of each promotion per sport.

• Oversee Marketing’s Internship and Practicum Student Program. Including, but not limited to: hiring, training, scheduling and supervising student interns responsible for assisting in daily operation of marketing and fan engagement.

• Responsible for screening music played during pregame for assigned sports.
