Department/College Description
The College of Science has 800 undergraduate students, 350 graduate students and 193 faculty members. It delivers the required scientific and mathematical education for most of the programs offered at RIT. The College of Science houses four of RITs eight Ph.D. programs - color science, astrophysical sciences and technology, mathematical modeling and imaging science.

The College of Science offers undergraduate and graduate programs in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science, Thomas H. Gosnell School of Life Sciences, the School of Chemistry and Materials Science, the School of Mathematical Sciences, the School of Physics and Astronomy, and the Integrated Sciences Academy. It also offers many research opportunities and programs and houses a number of research centers and laboratories that are conducting world-renowned research. In addition to its degree programs, the College delivers the required scientific and mathematical underpinnings for most of the programs offered at RIT.
