Seeking a passionate marketing professional to support the team responsible for engaging educators using the power of media-centric content to inspire students and advance effective and equitable teaching. The ideal candidate is mission-driven and approaches marketing in audience-centered, solutions-focused, and creative ways. In all work the candidate will be a collaborative team player, using data as a guide to experiment and innovate, flexibly responding to changing audience needs.
Multiplatform Marketing Contractor for PBS LearningMedia (PBSLM) develops and executes cross-platform marketing campaigns, and manages owned and paid marketing channels, with an email marketing focus, to reach and engage educators with PBS educational content and experiences. This position works closely with educators and external partners/vendors, as well as internal PBS departments and station partners.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Manage PBSLM’s B2C email marketing program including collaborating on themes and content, writing, building, sending, and measuring against KPIs
Develop and execute specialized promo and event email campaigns
Develop and manage external search engine marketing program and vendor, aligning strategically with PBSLM priorities and activities
Guide creative development and management of digital marketing assets and coordinate their delivery to vendors and PBS member stations on The Source (PBS’ asset management platform), as well as other platforms
Participate in team brainstorming and planning for upcoming campaigns and community engagement activities
Support other digital marketing work, including educator digital learning experiences, and other team priorities, as needed
Set up performance tracking, monitor and analyze results, share key learnings, and apply to ongoing efforts; keep up to date on digital media audience trends and share best practices
Support team budget management and invoice processing
Requirements for success:
3-5 years progressive experience in digital and email marketing to consumer-facing audience.
Understanding of email marketing best practices and anti-SPAM law compliance.
Experience with Email Marketing tools (MailChimp, Braze, Constant Contact) Preference given to experience with Eloqua.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite preferred but not required.
Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute overlapping assignments
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and work experience
Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
Innate curiosity and willingness to explore new approaches
Passion for education and public service - experience in education a plus
Data-minded with excellent project management skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible, iterative learner, and maintains a sense of humor
Photo editing skills a plus
Must have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccination by date of hire to be considered. Proof of vaccination required.
