Position Overview
The Manager of Marketing and Communications, under the general direction of the Director of Philanthropy, coordinates all contact with the Public and the Media through marketing and social media. Prepares the monthly Kelley Connection newsletter and the bi-annual Ambassador magazine.
Essential Job Functions
- Demonstrate a commitment to Catholic values and the promotion of the associated culture within a Catholic school
- Manages and directs three general areas: Public facing marketing and communications for the school, Philanthropy department marketing and communications needs, Bishop Kelley departmental marketing and communications needs.
Public Facing School Responsibilities
- Maintains frequent communication with media by keeping a constant flow of Kelley stories in newspapers and other media and by bringing the media on campus.
- Assist in ghost writing and editing as needed for the Office of the President.
- Maintains Bishop Kelley social media accounts as a means to promote current Bishop Kelley events and stories by consistently communicating with teachers, students, parents, alumni, and coaches about current events and activities.
- Produces and distributes the monthly BK Connection email newsletter.
- Maintains and updates the school website and manages administration of other users.
- Maintains a calendar of school events to be publicized and marketed.
- Works to standardize policies regarding school publications, branding, and social media across all departments.
- Provides photography for newsletter, annual reports, brochures, postcards, website, and publications when needed.
- Designs advertisements and coordinates with magazines and other sources of targeted school advertisements.
- Coordinates printing and ordering of business card and stationery
Philanthropy Department Responsibilities
- Creates marketing materials for department events including but not limited to: Senior Legacy Society, Golf Tournament, Auction, Trivia Night, and Lasallian Founders Alumni Awards.
- Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, creates the Annual Report once a year.
- Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, creates needed donor facing documents, brochures and Capital Campaign materials, as necessary.
- Under the direction of the Director of Philanthropy, designs the two semi-annual Ambassador magazines featuring stories and photos from alumni, students, faculty, and families from the Bishop Kelley community.
- Assists in writing and editing speaking notes and programs for Philanthropy department events including Hall of Fame, Lasallian Founders Alumni Awards, and Auction.
- Maintains files of all publications with printing history.
Other School Departmental Responsibilities
- Designs and updates printed and digital admissions materials each year.
- Designs Open House materials and other promotions as needed.
- Updates and produces the school profile for college counselors.
- Produces game day programs for well-attended athletic events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Physical Demands
- Lifting up to 25 lbs. unassisted
- Frequent prolonged standing, sitting, and walking to facilitate event coverage.
- Manual dexterity for typing
- Visual acuity to enable long and extended periods of screen time.

Educational and Experience Requirements
- College Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications or equivalent experience.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Computer skills necessary with experience in all Microsoft Office products, Adobe Creative Suite, as well as graphic, layout and editorial skills.
- Frequent and varied contact with community requires a courteous and tactful manner.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule and to organize and carry out work with little or no supervision.
- Able to multi-task several projects at a time is a must.
