M1 Concourse, located on the famed Woodward Avenue in the City of Pontiac, is SE Michigan’s premier motorsports and event venue. Housed on a legacy motor vehicle property, the 87-acre facility features an 11-turn, 1.5-mile high-performance/driver development track, a dynamic performance arena, and a 28,000 sq ft Event Center that is situated directly on pit lane. The annual event schedule includes Woodward Dream Show presented by Comerica (third weekend August) and the American Speed Festival presented by Comerica (first weekend in October) among others. A private garage community within the M1 property offers the 250 owners the option to join the M1 Motorsports Club for on track activities. A busy special event calendar sees private, corporate, social, and fund-raising events use both the Event Center and the Performance Track.
Position
M1 Concourse Director of Marketing & Communications will enjoy a dynamic work environment in the exciting world of automotive, motorsports and special events promoting the signature events as well as on-track activities and community events. The Director of Marketing & Communications will work with sponsor partners and to support both activities on the track and in the Event Center as well as other events at M1 Concourse.
The Director of Marketing & Communications will be responsible for the development of and execution of Branding and Marketing campaigns to promote the M1 Concourse brand, Signature Events and Facilities. Press relationships and communications will an important part of this position. Creative and content development for social media and Digital Marketing.
Responsibilities:
Focus on overall brand positioning, customer acquisition and upselling opportunities to optimize revenue.
Manage all aspects of M1 Concourse and event brands, advertising, and budgets to optimize brand awareness and key brand metrics. Write and edit editorial and press release content.
Event Ticketing -review marketing program metrics to ensure revenue optimization for ticket sales and upsell products
Corporate Leadership/Support - help improve overall corporate effectiveness and efficiencies.
Support corporate and group business leaders with ticket revenue projections and the tactics
Communications - Support Corporate Communications and Social Media team members to activate the strategy focused on ticket sales and sponsorship. Optimize the reach and engagement for campaigns in conjunction with communication initiatives.
Media/Advertising –Develop media strategies and support media negotiations.
Owned Asset/Analytics Management - Support website, app, and social media best practices to optimize ticket sales, renewals, impressions or engagement.
Corporate Sales Support - support corporate partner activation needs while supporting new business acquisition needs.
Responsible for overseeing Manager of Digital Content.
Requirements
Five to seven years of experience as a Manager or Director of Marketing, Communications or Digital Media or other senior marketing roles
Demonstrate experience in designing and implementing successful marketing campaigns
Solid working knowledge of SEO, web analytics and Google Adwords and digital marketing
Experience with CRM software and digital marketing tools and techniques
Strong leadership skills
Excellent spoken and written communications skills
Strong analytics and project management skills
Strategic mindset
