Job Summary- The Senior Manager, Marketing Programs is responsible for leading the development and execution of domestic and global marketing strategies to support the CAP’s Laboratory Improvement Programs. The Senior Manager, Marketing Programs is responsible for strategies to retain and grow our proficiency testing and quality management programs including ongoing sales support for defined programs to achieve organizational strategic and financial goals. Customer-focus is a must, and this position is accountable for advocating customer needs related to programs, services, and support to drive customer loyalty and sales. The Senior Manager will have a high level of visibility to staff and physician leadership and will both lead and participate in cross functional teams, CAP committees, and employee task forces to identify and implement strategic marketing opportunities. He/she will collaborate on a regular basis with, customers, members and staff and various reporting units at all levels of CAP.
Core Job Responsibilities
Develop and lead the management of strategic marketing plans for proficiency testing and quality management programs to meet organizational objectives.
Oversight of annual order renewal process.
Utilize customer research, competitive intelligence, market insights and industry trends (including CLIA regulations) to create and implement strategic marketing plan
Collaborate with product management to identify customer needs and opportunities and ensure CAP programs meet those needs.
Work with product management and marketing research department to study competition, determine program strengths and weaknesses versus competition, and develop strategies that will provide CAP with a competitive edge.
Segment customers in order to develop and deliver targeted programs and messages to prioritized segments.
Develop and articulate program value propositions, key benefits and messages for use by marketing and sales.
Build and execute annual marketing plans that include market segmentation and priorities, value propositions, competitive analysis, channel strategies to drive annual revenue objectives.
Working with CAP staff, members and/or customers, manage the creation of content to be used in marketing campaigns that illustrates the CAP’s value. Content examples could include white papers, case studies, infographics, website copy and scripts for webinars, podcasts and videos.
Develop effective sales tools, training, and other programs for direct and indirect sales channels in collaboration with sales enablement function to defend core business and leverage new growth opportunities.
Qualifications for this role
Experience working in clinical laboratory, IVD or other healthcare related field
Highly developed analytical, interpretive, evaluative, and constructive thinking
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to identify problems and work quickly with team members to create solutions or communicate changes with a positive approach
Strong leadership skills with the ability to lead, educate and influence people across different departments
Coordinate/manage projects, meetings and people independently with minimal management direction.
Results-oriented
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Education
College degree required
BS or advanced degree in biology, medical technology, or other health care related field, preferred
BS, BA, or MBA in marketing or business management
Experience
A minimum of 10 years of marketing management in an IVD, health care, or life sciences organization
Extensive experience in all aspects of developing and maintaining program marketing strategies to meet organizational objectives
Laboratory/product/sales experience desirable.
