Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Event Manager, Global Marketing.
Be a leader for the organization and leverage passion about healthcare and technology to impact patients' lives. The role will be the lead on organizing and directing operating mechanisms to drive product life cycle execution to shape an optimized (growth and margin) portfolio of products for Cardiac Rhythm Management. The product portfolios for CRM include pacemakers, defibrillators, implantable cardiac Monitors, remote care and supporting accessories.
The Senior Event Manager, Global Marketing, will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks associated with all Abbott's Cardiovascular CRM Division and our external customers. This team member will manage and execute all global events, meetings, and trade shows, including all associated activities such as calendar and travel arrangements, purchase orders, literature distribution, Marketing logistics, administration management, and day-to-day functions assigned to the Event Assistant.
The Senior Event Manager plays a crucial role in working with cross-functional marketing and business Cardiac Rhythm Management teams to turn their business strategies into executable event experiences. This team player will be responsible for upfront strategic event planning to support Marketing ROI.
This position requires a highly energized team member willing to travel, attend and work trade shows and events, host/assist with corporate events, and aid with all types of miscellaneous tasks within the Marketing Department.
This person must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, perform under pressure, and be extremely organized. Each day encompasses something unique, and versatility and dedication are key for this position.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Develop and execute a comprehensive event strategy, including brand, messaging, design, product placement, audio/visual enhancements, and more, creating exciting experiences that facilitate attendee engagement
Produce the yearly Sales Meetings (Global and National) and President's Club incentive program, completing venue selection, travel, food and beverage, team building events, program/scheduling, audio/visual, and event communications while staying within the specified budget.
Manage and execute all CRM Education Training events, including budgeting, cVent registration, food and beverage, space logistics, audio/visual, environmentals, on-site guides, F&B, hotel contracts, and post-event evaluation
Plan, prepare, manage, attend all regional and other global trade shows and events, as needed
Manage pre-and post-event emails and social media campaigns for trade shows
Maintain detailed and organized records of all details for trade shows and events
Track event spending from the planning stage to post-event to ensure expenses are within the planned budget
Manage all small and large-scale global events including, but not limited to: booth set-up/tear down, food and beverages, event registration, housing, promotional items, display units, Marketing strategy, and execution, researching new events, shipping, purchase orders, and event analysis
Responsible for overseeing the Event Assistant in their role
Work with MarCom Creative Services team to develop event invites, booth designs, and all additional graphic needs
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors
Deliver extraordinary customer service to all internal and external stakeholders involved in the planning and delivery of events
Update databases, create/distribute surveys, and provide post-event reports
Be detail-oriented, multi-task and prioritize projects, plan meetings and consistently meet budget deadlines
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU'LL BRING
Required
- Bachelor's Degree - Required
- 4+ years work experience, preferably in Events & Marketing
Preferred
- Friendly-Must have an engaging and creative personality that will be infectious to both internal touchpoints and external customers
- Organizational skills -Ability to lead projects, overcome barriers, and collaborate effectively with others
- Independent Planning-Sets specific goals and objectives, ability to plan for the length and difficulty of assignments, ability to break down projects into specific tasks/steps
- CRM Experience - Knowledge of working within a Customer Relationship Management system like SF.com, Marketo, and Monday.com
- Self-starter-Takes initiative to accomplish tasks with general or limited guidance; Possesses a keen curiosity and internal drive to find better ways to reach customers and exceed their expectations without constant supervision
- Customer Focus- Dedication to the customer and earns their trust and respect
- Digital Citizen-Has an established web footprint and networks daily within social media venues such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, You-Tube, and blogs
- Knowledge of the internet and social media venues
- Experience with cVent, Hubspot, Concur, and Oracle is desirable
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
