Work Schedule : Monday - Friday, unless a special event or assistance is needed on a weekend
Provide a warm and welcoming CMU environment at the Coulter Welcome Center. Greet visitors, answer questions and provide directions around the campus and Tepper buildings.
Use current tools and processes to check-in guests for tours, information sessions and other university events
Provide coverage of the Welcome Center reception desk, which includes familiarizing self with the space, materials and exhibits, performing basic clerical tasks, greeting and checking in visitors, and other general Welcome Center tasks such as kitchenette upkeep, inventory tracking and placement, and arrangement of desk materials.
Engage with the Tartan Ambassador program which includes attending meetings, scheduling shifts, creating engagement opportunities, training new ambassadors and communicating through Slack, Zoom and E-mail in a timely manner
Provide oversight of student ambassadors when they are assigned to staff the Welcome Center.
Host and audit 60-minute tours and student panels through Zoom and in-person
Monitor and check for accuracy in ambassadors email interactions from a variety of audiences inquiring about student life as a current CMU student
Serve as a vital part of CMU's visitor experience team to continually enhance the visitor experience program to be best-in-class.
Conduct support work for University Communications & Marketing projects, as they arise
Training will be conducted at the start of the position to ensure success in the role including, but not limited to: Welcome Center overview, location wayfinding, brand information, customer service practices, and ambassador training (both asynchronous and in-person).
