Important to Know: The salary range is $59,000 - $62,000, DOQ. This position offers a flexible hybrid work schedule with an expectation to be in-person, on-campus 2 days per week. POSITION OVERVIEW:
Come join a dynamic and supportive team at Student Unions & Activities as a Marketing Manager. This position is responsible for providing marketing direction for student-run concerts and arts and culture events and retail areas (convenience stores and non-contracted food service locations) operated by the Student Unions & Activities (SUA) located in Coffman Memorial Union, the St. Paul Student Center, and West Bank Skyway. The Marketing Manager reports to the Assistant Director - Marketing and is one of 9 marketing staff which serves the SUA department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
â— Develop, implement and project manage marketing campaigns promoting SUA retail and non-contracted food service locations. Such projects may include email marketing, social media advertising, in-store signage and merchandising, coupon campaigns and sampling events, direct mail pieces and more.
â— Use marketing data to direct strategy and implement tactics for all SUA retail locations.
â— Develop, implement and project manage marketing campaigns for Student Jobs and Student Activities areas where assigned, including but not limited to the Whole Music Club and Arts and Culture.
â— Follow the design and marketing process including developing accurate project timelines, strategic marketing briefs, accurately imputing requests into the online graphics system, and ensuring approval of clients and Assistant Director - Marketing.
â— Work closely with the Social Media Manager to develop social media marketing plans
â— Supervise and direct student marketing assistants, including hiring, training, delegating and evaluating.
â— Conduct data analysis, trend/business research and analysis, collecting and analyzing demographic information, and assessing performance of marketing initiatives at events, concerts and retail locations
â— Manage annual marketing budget for designated areas. Provide timely updates to Assistant Director - Marketing
â— Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Project Management, Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field plus 4 years related experience.
- Must demonstrate effective project management skills, strong written and oral communication skills, and strong customer service orientation.
- Must have experience in project management and writing creative briefs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using qualitative and quantitative market research to guide marketing plans.
- Knowledge or experience working with students in a student union or university environment.
- Experience using Google Drive and Trello.
