The Angel Capital Association is seeking a full-time marketing professional to update and implement its existing marketing strategy. The Marketing Manager should develop initiatives to promote membership growth and retention, helping increase revenue from dues, event registrations, sponsorship and new products/services. The Marketing Manager will also develop thought leadership content communications and communicate with the media, and develop new marketing and communications programs to expand the impact and visibility of the organization.
The work products required include:
Marketing plan – Update of current marketing strategies and development of operational plans and schedules
Marketing programs, messaging for value proposition, and supporting materials to support ACA initiatives, with most focus on:
Education and events including webinars, Summit, Fall Event, regional meetings and other educational events and activities.
Primary marketing tools include website, email, newsletter, blogs, social media, and video
Manage ACA public relations activities including press releases, media pitches, op-ed pieces, media tours
Marketing metrics and market research – Report on ACA’s progress in meeting marketing and communications goals
The successful candidate must have the following qualifications:
3-to-5-year track record of success in marketing and media relations.
Impeccable writing and editing skills for both promotional purposes and educational/thought leadership content.
Understanding of current marketing tactics and communications tools that support revenue growth.
Ability to analyze results of marketing and communications activities for constant improvement.
Experience with financial and business media; knowledge of key media influencers, and the ability to target and successfully engage appropriate journalists.
Ability to quickly grasp concepts in a complex and fast-moving environment that includes major regulatory changes, an evolving industry with multiple facets, competitors and partners. If the candidate does not have a working understanding of angel investing or entrepreneurship, must be a quick learner to understand this environment.
Experience in working with or managing experts in graphic design, digital media and visual formatting.
Ability to analyze and interpret marketing/ membership research and develop new strategies
Excellent project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
Understanding of angel investing, entrepreneurship and funding environment for startups
Knowledgeable about the operations and needs of professional associations.
Experience in graphics design, layout, digital media and visual formatting/presentation.
