The Web Designer Specialist will work with the Department of University Communications and Marketing to maintain the University’s website and design, develop, and maintain webpages including online forms utilizing databases. This position will guide strategic and technical development of the WCU website and mobile app.
Page remediation to meet accessibility standards
Designing new University pages, subsites, and reusable components
Working directly with clients to determine specifications for requests
Developing and thoroughly testing web applications
Performing special web requests as needed
Collaborating with University Communications and Marketing staff
Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Design, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field
1-year experience with HTML, CSS
1-year experience with WCAG 2.0 standards or Section 508
1-year experience with SEO
1 year experience as a website, web developer, or graphic designer
Experience with Content Management Systems including Omni CMS
Experience with XSLT
Experience parsing JSON, XML, RSS
Customer service experience
Higher education experience
