Are you looking for your next career challenge? We are excited to be recruiting a new Senior Director of Marketing and Communications, Community Engagement . Someone who is passionate about strengthening engagement among external partners and community members to raise awareness about our leading cancer care, research, and education. This role is a critical building block in MSKs mission and vision, and the incumbent will be a key member of the Marketing & Communications team.
Work collaboratively across Marketing & Communications and the broader institution to optimize the way community members and external partners engage with MSK.
Drive community planning engagement around expanded services and capabilities, including identifying and meeting with local leaders, civic groups, and community-based organizations.
Help drive increased diversity of MSKs patient base through outreach campaigns and precision marketing to diverse communities.
Create differentiated programs tailored to the unique needs of communities in which we are based.
Create new ways to make valuable contributions for third-party partnerships and sponsorships. Find new opportunities to expand engagement with audiences through MSKs digital properties.
Cultivate beneficial relationships with external decision-makers, including those from city agencies, as well as elected officials and community groups. Identify and foster collaborations and partnerships with external resources and organizations.
Identify emerging community issues and develops/initiates/coordinates institutional response.
15+ years of well-rounded experience across government affairs, external communications, content creation, owned and paid marketing channels, brand strategy, with increasing levels of responsibility.
Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills; executive presence.
Genuine enthusiasm for the healthcare industry. Experience in healthcare or government affairs, especially experience working directly with or for elected officials or community-based organization is preferred.
Experience in complex and multi-faceted organizations with diverse, multi-cultural partners.
A collaborative spirit, and the ability to develop trusting, highly collaborative professional relationships with colleagues and partners at every level of the organization, spanning many departments and functions.
The ability to lead all aspects of a project, multi-task multiple complex initiatives at once, manage priorities, and deliver work on deadline.
Experience in issues management and issues resolution.
