Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Member Marketing and Communications plans, implements and evaluates ACFAS’ member marketing and communications programs. Additionally, the Director is a member of the ACFAS leadership team and works closely with senior leaders to ensure effective coordination and communication of activities and support an innovative, high-performing and respectful team culture.
HOW YOU’LL SERVE OUR MEMBERS:
Develop annual marketing plans for ACFAS member programs in coordination with the appropriate departments based on programmatic needs, including developing success goals and metrics, to deliver innovative, fresh and highly targeted/personalized marketing that achieve member engagement goals.
Manage the implementation of all aspects of marketing plans on time and within budget that drive awareness and engagement for ACFAS’ programs, products, services and initiatives; including copywriting and coordinating the efforts of internal and external creative/marketing staff/vendors to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Oversee the planning, implementing, and evaluating of member communications in coordination with the appropriate departments and members by managing the editorial planning and day-to-day operations for non-clinical, member communication vehicles including digital and print newsletters, acfas.org, AFCAS social media and blast emails.
Oversee the management of the marketing and communications department including managing a direct report, assessing and developing processes and procedures, providing monthly progress reports, and participating in budget creation and progress reports.
Monitor member challenges and needs and research/develop articles to address them; maximize the body of knowledge in development of articles and reports; look for strategies/solutions to improve existing communication channels and build new ones.
Support a culture of collaboration and innovation with staff, members and outside organizations.
WHO YOU ARE:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field required; Certified Association Executive (CAE) a plus
5 + years marketing or communications experience required (medical association preferred) including 3 years in a management role with at least one direct report
Proven copywriting/editing experience of marketing materials
10% travel required; including travel to annual conference and occasional evening conference calls
Adept at building positive and productive relationships with volunteer leaders and other stakeholders, ability to maintain a member-focused mindset
Exceptional project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Ability to develop and lead a high performing team of one direct report
Ability to provide decisive leadership and thoughtful coaching and guidance to staff
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of association management principles and best practices
Ability to assess and develop/refine processes to support effective and efficient operations for a centralized department
** Our staff is working remote due to COVID19 with the option to utilize the office. As appropriate, we will transition back to a hybrid office**
