To continue our impressive growth our University Relations (UR) department is seeking an Assistant Director, Marketing and Project Management.
Our UR Department is responsible for the branding and marketing of the University at the highest level to strengthen the awareness and reputation of the University among key audiences. In this role, you will utilize your community and relationship builder skills and act as a point of contact across departments and schools to provide strategic guidance to ensure all marketing projects, across platforms including print, digital, web, video, and events to meet brand standards and University goals. A successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, be an effective communicator, and have video production experience. This role is highly visible to leadership, staff, faculty, students, collaborating regularly with departments such as Strategic Initiatives, Student Engagement, Student Success, Enrollment Management, Career Services, and more.
Plan, promote, execute, and support the strategy of University-level initiatives that build reputation and image, including, but not limited to:
Video production and photoshoots that maximize efficient multimedia platform usability
Act as the main point of contact for various departments/schools in support of marketing efforts including recruitment, student success, student engagement, and event promotion
Coordinate internal UR teams (editorial, design, production, public affairs) and resources to support goals, strategies, marketing needs, and programs of departments and schools
Provide strategic solutions to marketing challenges
Manage day-to-day projects: troubleshoot and run interference between internal clients and editorial and design resources; manage schedules
Establish, build and maintain strong relationships with contacts
Attend key department and school meetings and provide frequent updates to UR colleagues in Marketing and Communications and Public Affairs
Assemble cross-functional project teams, monitor, and facilitate progress, coordinate communication among constituents, and ensure consistent alignment with overall branding strategy
Manage and liaise with external vendors and agencies as needed.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field strongly preferred
Video production experience
Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Ability to build long-lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with contacts—including editorial, design, and production team members, leadership, outside vendors, and marketing communicators across the University
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while managing competing priorities as well as stakeholder expectations
Experience managing projects in a marketing or public affairs environment and familiarity with project management principles and best practices
Experience in higher education or at an agency a plus.
