The Marketing & Commercial Excellence Director will be responsible for driving strategic planning and leadership for East Asia, developing franchise marketing strategies for key franchises and medical education in East Asia as well as business development and acquisitions across East Asia.
This role reports to the VP GM of East Asia, and will work closely with East Asia Leadership team, the APAC & Design Division Marketing Teams, Sales leaders across East Asia and their local marketing teams and where necessary, corporate functions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Planning & Leadership
Ownership of East Asia Roadmap process & governance
Ownership of Divisional Sales Meeting Project
Project owner of Strategy Planning process for East Asia working with APAC lead
2. Franchise Marketing Strategy for East Asia
Lead & grow franchise marketing team & capability to support growth in key franchises across East Asia including:
Development, management of key education programs for surgeons
Monitor market, customer, and competitive landscape, including emerging trends.
Develop robust Annual marketing Plans for key franchises
Development and promotion of Stryker brand in East Asia
Liaise, partner & collaborate with APAC marketing on gap analysis resource optimization
3. Business Development & Acquisitions
Custodian of East Asia Business Development partnership supporting the APAC plan
Lead acquisition PMO efforts for East Asia
Liaise with East Asia leadership and in-country commercial teams to create East Asia integration strategies & timelines.
4. Medical Education
Build & facilitate Professional affairs & clinician engagement processes as part of franchise strategies
Ensure compliance with local marcom regulations
Work with APAC Med Ed/US Divisions to develop training programs for acquired products and that training programs are globally aligned
Education & Special Trainings:
Degree in Finance, Marketing or Science is advantageous.
Big Picture Marketing trained is preferred.
Qualifications & Experience:
Medical device industry/ healthcare industry experience preferred
Demonstrated financial acumen and demonstrated success in creating financial plans/business cases to support business strategies for organic growth and business development deals
Demonstrated expertise in working within matrix leadership teams essential
Experience creating go-to-market plans and high level of expertise and knowledge in marketing fundamentals essential
Demonstrated experience with analytics and business intelligence processes
Challenge input of the internal and external/third party resources and seek collaborative solutions to growth opportunities
Strong operational and commercial background
Clear understanding of all functions scientific, clinical, commercial, and financial issues
Process driven and focused on key deliverables
Demonstrated ability to perform in an environment that emphasizes teamwork.
Willingness to accept variety of assignments, highly motivated, with a natural ability to perform under stress
