Reporting to the Associate Athletics Director of Marketing and Engagement, the Digital Marketing Manager promotes and enhances LMU Athletics campaigns across the university’s digital platforms, including email, web, video and social media. The incumbent will evaluate new technologies, and use tracking platforms to measure traffic and behaviors to optimize digital strategy and raise LMU Athletics profile in the digital space.
The Digital Marketing Manager will organize, plan and execute all aspects associated with the production of LMU Athletics digital and multimedia content; develop high-quality creative content to engage the athletics fan base, increase engagement and raise awareness of the LMU Athletics; manage and publish calendar that includes videos, stories, graphics and pictures from within Athletics. Manage and oversee multiple digital marketing social media and video projects on tight deadlines that include but are not limited to email campaigns, creative content, in-game activations and coverage. Manage social media, game activations, videoboard content for LMU Athletics games and events, providing real-time content across all social media platforms. The Digital Marketing Manager will manage and support a data-driven and evidenced-based decision support environment; collect, review, analyze, and evaluate email, social and web metrics and analytics to inform strategy, measure performance and optimize campaigns. Oversee LMU Athletics official email marketing solution and collaborate with campus partners to ensure email campaigns align with university goals, strategic priorities and best practices; facilitate creation of university-wide templating systems for LMU Athletics. Pursue thought leadership on digital marketing and communications topics by staying abreast of emerging trends, developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professional development engagements, and delivering presentations to inform, educate, and inspire. Direct and manage assigned personnel, including student assistants, freelancers and third-party vendors. The Digital Marketing Manager will cultivate and steward relationships with key stakeholders, build consensus to achieve successful outcomes, and promote a culture of transparency, collaboration, and creativity within LMU Athletics; generate resources on best practices and analytics to implement strategies that increase quality of digital content produced across LMU Athletics. Ensures that LMU Athletics and university-related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations; attend and participate in scheduled compliance seminars and comply with all Athletics’ efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations; seek interpretations when necessary from the compliance staff before acting; reports potential rules violations immediately; complete required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner; monitors all of their areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations.

We seek candidates who typically possess a Bachelor’s Degree. Four years’ experience in the marketing, graphic design, or videography field. Professional experience in social media strategy, digital design, video editing and video shooting capabilities. A good understanding of social media and creative video trends and technologies. Working knowledge of real-world experience in planning, managing and executing social media, video and digital media initiatives. Proficient in applications such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, etc. Knowledge of email services, ideally Emma and AXS, or similar programs. Proficient in video editing skills for videos from 15-seconds – 2-minutes. Must possess the ability to learn new technologies, techniques and solve problems quickly and completely. Detail and customer-oriented with good multitasking and organizational ability. Strong sense of professionalism and judgment in response to issues in the public social media space. Ability to interact effectively and timely with coaches, administrators, student-athletes, media and vendors. Strong organizational, management and leadership skills. Proven ability to multi-task effectively, prioritize assignments and meet deadlines. Strong verbal and writing skills. Availability to work a flexible work schedule including nights and weekends. Possible travel with sport teams for select away contests. Thorough knowledge of NCAA and WCC conference rules and regulations. Previous experience at the NCAA D1 level or professional sports is preferred.
