Friends School Haverford seeks a creative, dynamic professional for the position of Marketing and Communications Director beginning in June 2021. Major responsibilities include creating and coordinating the School’s external communications, advancing the School’s visibility through social media and advertisements, producing all digital and print publications, and supporting the school’s admissions and advancement work.
Create and manage a content strategy for advertising, web presences, inbound marketing, and other marketing and communications campaigns which clearly articulate the School’s brand and support admission and advancement efforts
Measure, analyze and track the effectiveness and ROI of marketing initiatives such as social media campaigns, inbound marketing, website traffic, Google search, SEO, etc. through the use of Google, Facebook, and other analytical tools
Write, edit, and oversee the production of viewbooks, brochures, postcards, giving guide, annual report, and school magazine
Manage all aspects of the school’s website, ensuring content is up-to-date and engaging
Create and produce compelling written and visual content (with an emphasis on video content) for social media to boost the school’s online presence and marketing efforts
Collaborate on and/or write and edit all digital communications, including our weekly update to families, communications from the Head of School and School Committee, and community announcements
Manage outside vendors for specialized expertise or services (design services, production, printing)
Collaborate with faculty and staff to provide clear and consistent messaging to families
Organize and maintain photographs and video clips for school archives
Assist with events and meetings for parent ambassadors, alumni, and donors
Strong candidates will have:
A Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or a related field
At least 3-5 years of experience in marketing/communications, preferably in the non-profit sector
Excellent writing, editing, and communications skills with the ability to produce materials quickly and in a variety of styles
A strong understanding of social media analytics and marketing
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects with shifting priorities and competing deadlines
Creative thinking and problem solving skills
Proficiency in Constant Contact, Google Suite Apps, all social media platforms and online content management system (e.g. FACTS). Adobe Creative Suite apps (InDesign, Photoshop, Spark) a plus
Ability to work flexible hours (occasional evenings and weekends) in accordance with the demands of the position
A high level of interest in working at Quaker school that serves children ages 3-10.
This is a full-time, 12-month position. Full-time staff members participate in the life of the School, including attending admissions-related events, working with teachers and students, and other related activities.
