Unit Description Tufts University's University College (UC), established as a school within Tufts in 2018, is dedicated to programming that meets the educational needs of learners, wherever they are on their learning journey. Today, UC's programmatic areas include Tufts Professional & Custom Education Programs, Tufts Pre-College Programs, and Tufts Lifelong Learning & Osher Institute. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Marketing Associate for University College at Tufts University will have responsibility for the development, organization, and management of the day-to-day marketing operations. This includes social media, web content, e-communication, HubSpot or similar CRM management tools, paid online and offline channels, and analytics, as well as shared management of our intern staff. They will work collaboratively with our UC program staff, external vendors and partners, as well as our Tufts Central Marketing unit and will serve as the primary point-of-contact for marketing requests from faculty, staff, and students across our programs. They will need to be able to multi-task and change priorities quickly between programmatic areas or based on individual program performance to support marketing initiatives or to highlight news, opportunities for schools and departments, events, or research, and be ready to execute on other urgent and non-urgent digital marketing needs as they arise.
The Marketing Associate will be responsible for the overall strategy, and direct supervision, of all social media channels, including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube, which includes thinking outside-the-box, trying new approaches, and taking controlled risks to see what content proves most successful. The position will be responsible for effectively tracking and measuring campaign(s) success and ROI through regular monitoring of analytics across channels and through multiple reporting platforms, including thinking innovatively to increase performance. They will also be responsible for the reconciliation of billing transactions, and invoice management as part of the overall budget process across programs. Overall, this position provides an opportunity to learn and grow as part of a strategic marketing team throughout all aspects of communications at a prestigious higher ed institution.
Oversee the effective operation and development of all UC's daily marketing communications through a variety of platforms
Support content development and manage delivery of broadcast and nurture email communications, landing pages, reporting dashboards and analytic tracking in HubSpot (CRM)
Creation of content for social media posts, internal email communications and University partner email broadcasts
Develop and maintain UC's communication calendar
Research and monitor peer school sites, social platforms, and other digital marketing materials for a better understanding of the overall competitive landscape
Stay engaged with new information, technologies, ideas or developments that become available and/or prove successful in higher ed or similar industries.
Create strong relationships with both internal stakeholders of University College and throughout Tufts University, as well as with external vendors and partners
Comfortable with working longer hours during peak seasons and dealing with off-hour emergencies, as needed.
