The Associate Vice President, Marketing & Communications is a seasoned, data-driven marketing and business leader who is passionate about leading an extraordinary team of magic-makers to elevate our brand internally and externally. Reporting to the Chief Marketing and Experience Officer and working collaboratively with executive leaders, this leader demonstrates expertise in strategic, analytical thinking and operational execution as he/she leads the strategy and execution of all marketing communications efforts that support the organization's growth and strategic goals. This includes planning, development, implementation, and reporting of marketing, media relations, and digital strategies for the system.
The AVP, Marketing & Communications ensures a seamless marketing function and develops and presents regular reporting to effectively communicate the ROI and impact of Marketing and communications initiatives for internal stakeholders such as senior leadership, Boards, and committees. This leader serves as the main point of contact for corporate marketing, maintaining regular communication with local New Orleans hospital marketing directors and leads the corporate marketing team's key support areas including creative services, public and media relations, digital strategy, and CRM marketing. Serves as a role model by demonstrating commitment to creative an extraordinary and frictionless experience for consumers and staff and continuous improvement in organizational performance.
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, healthcare administration or related field.
Preferred: Master's degree in business, marketing, communications, healthcare administration, or related field.
Minimum Required Experience:
At least 10 years of marketing, communications, advertising, strategy, planning, finance, business development or public relations experience, preferably in healthcare/wellness or agency setting.
Experience managing functions such as data analysis, consumer research and insights, and digital and social strategy.
Understands the overall financial performance of the organization and applies financial concepts and practices to establish and maintain realistic budgets. Uses financial information to monitor overall financial status of operations.
Experience with a variety of marketing technology programs and initiatives, including but not limited to website content management systems, mobile apps, CRM, Google Analytics and Google AdWords.
Ability to analyze and interpret data into meaningful insights that provide decision support for product development service enhancements or business strategy.
Preferred Required Experience:
15+ years of years of marketing, communications, business development, CRM, advertising or public relations experience, preferably in healthcare/wellness or agency setting.
Previous senior executive experience.
3 years Healthcare marketing experience.
Agency traffic or project management and workflow experience.
Experience developing and managing a department budget and budget forecasting.
Crisis communications experience.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects in a matrixed and fast-paced environment.
Experience building or directly supporting annual business strategic plans.
Active participation in professional development or community organizations that advances the Marketing Communications profession, demonstrates thought leadership, and/or the wellbeing of the community.
Special Skills/Training (Minimum Required):
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Excellent project management skills, demonstrated success managing complex projects from start to finish, and working effectively across internal functional teams and external vendor relationships.
Strong critical thinking ability to synthesize complex data and clearly and effectively communicate the impact of marketing into high-level, easy-to-understand reports that tell a clear story.
Ability to work and function in a complex corporate system environment and a demonstrated understanding of health care dynamics.
Excellent leadership and self-direction with the ability to lead and collaborate with teams from a variety of backgrounds and professions.
Ability to make effective presentations to various stakeholders including physicians, senior leadership, governance, and external constituents.
Strategic problem-solver and an influencer with leadership and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrate success with employee and leadership engagement communications and experience in developing internal communications programs, writing press releases, and marketing presentations.
Highly organized, results-oriented and detail-oriented with excellent project management skills.
excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to communicate/collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, management, executives, providers, and board.
Deep understanding of the best practices in communications and marketing.
Must work well under pressure of multiple projects having competing deadlines, and with minimal supervision.
Member of the command center team, activated for emergency events such as hurricanes. Essential staff member to coordinate communication and required to work, as needed.
Flexibility required. Occasional evening and weekend work.
Employer will assist with relocation costs.
