Role Overview As the Director of Marketing, Corporate Brand, you ll have a big mission to establish the corporate brand strategy for BH Companies and advance BH in the industry. Building a vision, setting clear goals, and mapping a path forward is your forte. You re a collaborative, hands-on leader who can drive initiatives to completion. You ll have an incredibly strong support system to lean on, reporting to the VP of Marketing and working side-by-side with the Director of Property Marketing and Director of Customer Experience as your peers. You're a strategic thinker who can see the forest AND the trees. You chart the course, gain buy-in from stakeholders, and then roll up your sleeves to get the job done. And once the task is complete, you understand the value in taking a moment to express gratitude to the village who helped to make it happen. As you can likely tell, 'how' things are done matters just as much as what was done here at BH! Good humans need apply. Responsibilities and Qualifications Communications: - Corporate Communications: PR and media relations, executive communications, crisis management, communications to business partners, and employee engagement. You ll be our voice.
- Speaking Engagements: Oversee company calendar, provide support for leadership team including preparation for conferences, panels, and speaking engagements. You ll put our best foot forward.
- Industry Relations: Manage memberships, have a pulse on industry news, announcements, and initiatives, and source and encourage communications around charitable events and partnerships. You ll keep us plugged in.
- Employee Engagement: Partner with HR and Culture teams in the development and execution of internal communications and employee engagement activities, including employer awards submissions and promotions. You ll be our ambassador.
Brand Strategy: - Strategy Development: Work cross-functionally to build the narrative around what makes BH unique purpose, positioning, value props, and differentiators. You re our narrator.
- Design: Drive our upcoming brand refresh including logo development, updates to creative guidelines, and development of corporate branded resources and templates. You ve got an eye for design.
- Messaging: Evolve our voice, tone, and market-facing personality, update our messaging pillars, tagline, boilerplates, bios etc., and lead the education of internal teams on new materials. You ll be our brand evangelist.
- Product Branding: Partner cross-functionally to develop a strong marketing strategy to support BH s unique services, proprietary tools, and innovative product launches.
Content Marketing: - Copywriting: Develop written content that supports and drives corporate marketing goals. You are a master wordsmith.
- Social Media: Define and execute a corporate social strategy that blends brand content, product features, marketing initiatives, and employer outreach. You ll unite our audiences.
- Earned Media: Develop strategies to expand reach and distribute content more widely, such as syndication and partner marketing. You ll spot the opportunities.
- Owned Media: Deploy SEO tactics to increase eyeballs and outcomes. You aren't afraid to get technical.
- Always Be Testing: Establish goals and track KPIs to ensure content and communications programs are achieving success. You ll be smart and aware.
B2B / Customer Marketing: - Corporate Support Materials: Design and prepare B2B pitch decks for each division, highlight the value props and differentiators across our business, be an internal resource for our corporate client-facing teams to ensure that BH shines. You ll polish our look.
- Customer Marketing: Support in the development and deployment of client comms, email marketing campaigns, and general efforts to communicate the value that BH is creating for our customers. You ll highlight our wins.
- Product Marketing: Develop a marketing strategy to support existing and to-be-launched products and services as we continue to innovate in our space, focusing on differentiation, education, and adoption. You ll help get BH to market.
Successful cross-team communication and cross-departmental collaboration is important. This role will work closely with all BH teams, including: Property Marketing, Customer Experience, Legal + Compliance, HR + Culture, Performance Strategy, Strategic Implementations and Business Intelligence Services What you'll need - 5+ years of marketing experience, with at least 2 in a leadership role (formal or informal, we know there s more to being a leader than a manager title). You understand how to influence, inspire, motivate, and enable.
- 3+ years of communications and public relations experience. Crisis communications requires a level-head and fast feet.
- 2+ years of B2B marketing experience preferred. Our audiences vary and tactics will too.
- Excellent judgement and quick decision-making.
- Next-level written and verbal communication. You ve been making mental notes of all the edits you d make to this job description without even realizing you were doing it.
- An eye for design and a familiarity with modern graphic design systems and tools. We use Adobe, but there are many great tools out there
- Comfort with ambiguity. Some may even say you thrive in it!
- Happily autonomous with healthy communication skills. You love to work independently, but you keep everyone in your sphere informed of your progress.
- Familiarity with modern digital marketing practices and success measurement. You know that marketing for the sake of marketing is outdated, but keeping it simple has its merits, too.
- You can communicate the difference between brand marketing, performance marketing, and product marketing. Brownie points if you can describe why each one is important, and how they complement one another!
- Familiarity with real estate, multifamily operations, and equities and investments is ideal, but not a deal breaker. We re great teachers.
