The Director of Admissions Communications and Marketing works closely with the Dean of Admissions/Chief Admissions Officer and is responsible for the leadership and oversight of all communications and marketing activities for the Office of Admissions, developing, guiding and implementing the communications strategy and managing the development, distribution and maintenance of all print and electronic material. This position will work with all campus entities, including the Admissions, Institutional Advancement/Development, Faculty, campus-wide public events, areas of Student Life, and the GCU Office of Marketing and Communication.
The Director of Admissions Communications and Marketing is responsible for providing advice and data analysis to assist in guiding communications and marketing activities within the Office of Admissions. The Director will be responsible for developing and analyzing enrollment-related data, research, and admissions trend data, as it relates to communications and marketing, which will affect decisions related to recruitment, enrollment, admissions, and scholarship strategies. The Director will manage the activities and priorities of all third party vendors responsible for assisting with communications and marketing.
In close consultation with the VP for Enrollment Management/Chief Admissions Officer, the Director of Admissions Communications and Marketing will develop and implement comprehensive communications and marketing plans that are consistent with the overall strategic plan of the University, including on-campus and off-campus programs, student search, and travel and territory management.
This position requires the ability to travel, both locally and nationally, which may include evening and weekend hours.

The director of admissions communications and marketing fulfills a key role in internal and external communications, and is responsible for the administration and management of GCU's brand with print and media. In this role, the incumbent is responsible for:
Developing, implementing and managing the Office of Admissions strategic marketing and communications plan, including the website and all digital platforms, print and electronic materials and advertising, in close collaboration with the Dean of Admissions/Chief Admissions Officer and the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer, which supports campus-wide communications and marketing efforts aimed at internal and external constituents, with an emphasis on Enrollment and Retention.
Develop and manage the annual advertising strategy and coordinate with all vendors.
Sourcing stories internally for external communications, developing relationships with key editors and reporters, and coordinate marketing attendance at campus events leading to positive coverage of GCU, its programs, faculty, students, and events to prospective students.
Copy writing, editing speeches and developing key message points for use in interviews and advise and counsel on a variety of public image issues for the Dean of Admissions/Chief Admissions Officer.
Participating in aspects of the GCU Magazine, including editorial planning and editing and proofreading.
Writing and editing of copy for a variety of University publications including enrollment materials, brochures, posters, and digital communications, ensuring those publications adhere to GCU's brand guidelines and institutional key messages.
Conducting quarterly campaign analysis and reporting on all advertising, news and print campaigns, and digital campaigns and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives.
Use digital and multi-platform marketing to increase active engagement with prospective students.
Develop and implement the web, digital communications, and interactive media strategic marketing and communications plan, in close collaboration with Dean of Admissions/Chief Admissions Officer and the Executive Director of Communications and Marketing/Chief Marketing Officer, that supports campus-wide communications and marketing efforts aimed at internal and external constituents, with an emphasis on enrollment and retention.
Maintain website and intranet content and perform cross-browser/platform quality assurance testing. Ensures compliance with state, federal, FTC and university rules and regulations, including website accessibility and usability; participates in ISAAC reviews and other website compliance requirements.
Create content and communications workflows within the admissions CRM and the admissions ESP. Use A/B testing to measure effectiveness and adjust messaging content and schedule. Regularly report on messaging effectiveness.
Storyboard, create, shoot, edit and distribute videos and still photography that highlight the programs and life at GCU for digital platforms and print materials. Work in coordination/collaboration with marketing and communications staff on institutional video and photo shoots.
Represent the office on a variety of University committees.
Other duties as assigned.
The director of admissions communications and marketing will ensure that all communications follow brand guidelines and work to maintain and advance Georgian Court University's commitment to environmentally sustainable practices.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college of university in journalism, public relations, marketing, English, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in the communications and marketing field.
Possess a high level of communication skills, as well as the ability to foresee potential issues that could lead to media and public attention.
Experience and a passion for the social technology universe (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Flickr, blogs, wikis, RSS, social bookmarking, discussion forums, community software, and developing apps)
Excellent editing and written communications skills. Strong oral communication skills and a sophisticated understanding of what should be communicated to different audiences, from alumni, to prospective students to various media outlets.
Ability to organize multiple layers of copy and maintain consistency in voice, brand, and site architecture.
Proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite software, Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other email, social networking and scheduling applications as required.
Demonstrated proficiency in AP Style writing and copyediting.
Experience using student information systems, customer relationship management (CRM) systems, and communication technologies to recruit and enroll students.
Proven management and mentoring skills and experience working with professional and support staff to implement and execute programs.
Strong quantitative and data analysis skills and the ability to use data to make decisions.
Ability and willingness to travel in and out of state and work evenings and weekend hours.
Excellent professional demeanor.
Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals.
Excellent listening, communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate clearly in person and writing.
Ability to accurately provide information and establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, students and the general public.
