The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) has an opening for the position of Publications and Marketing Coordinator. The publications and marketing coordinator coordinates marketing, digital technology, and publications in support of National College Fair programs. This includes anticipating project needs, discerning work priorities, and meeting deadlines. Some travel may be required as needed.
NACAC is an education association of more than 15,000 postsecondary and secondary schools, organizations, counselors, and college admission and financial aid officers that work with students as they make the transition from high school to postsecondary education. Writes, edits, and proofreads National College Fair web content.
Collects and verifies information to produce National College Fair (NCF), Performing and Visual Arts (PVA), and STEM registration booklets, newsletters, and exhibitor manuals.
Reports to the associate director of National College Fairs, programs and services for all NCF website content, changes, and standards.
Reviews, schedules, and manages delivery for all advertisements, including newspaper, fair directories, billboards, and marquees.
Maintains master schedule for all publication deadlines.
Manages sponsorship content on the website.
Stays informed of trends in web technology by conducting research and attending webinars and workshops. Recommends program content in line with trends.
Acts as the liaison with the National College Fairs management team, Communications Department, and external vendors for the design, layout, and production of National College Fairs promotional materials to ensure accuracy of material and ensure projects are on schedule.
Cultivates relationships with external vendors and ensures proper execution of marketing initiatives.
Manages all NCF Department mailings to ensure timely delivery.
Develops, writes, and initiates delivery of email marketing campaigns.
Contributes to a comprehensive marketing plan for National College Fair programs, including NCF, PVA, and STEM lead retrieval.
Identifies opportunities for cross-promotion of National College Fairs, Performing and Visual Arts, and STEM programs.
Ensures that lead retrieval is fully integrated through all marketing outlets, including publications, websites, print, radio, and television media.
Works closely with the event managers to ensure that production and distribution of marketing materials are executed.
Responds to calls and emails from members interested in the program.
Maintains relations with other organizations and media outlets that are involved in the promotion of the National College Fair programs.
Collaborates with designated marketing liaisons on local arrangements committees for all college fairs.
Creates and posts National College Fair Program events on social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
Recommends new promotions strategies.
Provides lunch time and back-up staffing for the front desk per scheduled rotation or as required.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts or other related discipline.
A minimum of two years of work experience in a marketing and/or educational environment that includes drafting and editing digital content and using analytics to measure performance of promotion strategies.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills including writing, proofreading, documentation, and organizational skills.
Working knowledge of traditional and digital marketing tools.
Expertise with SEO/SEM campaigns.
Working knowledge of multiple social media platforms.
Effective collaboration and relationship management skills.
Close attention to detail.
Proficiency using the latest versions of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, EPI Server, InDesign, or similar software.
Knowledge of mail merge construction and internet searches.
Experience with web writing, editing, and site content.
Ability to finish projects per deadlines.
