We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated Christian with experience creating visual and written content for marketing campaigns who is interested in supporting the development and execution of defined marketing projects.
The Marketing Specialist is part of a team that is responsible for the development and production of Crown College marketing materials, publications, website, emarketing and social media campaigns.
The primary function in this role is content development for print and online campaigns that support and enhance the Crown College mission and brand. Tasks will include design, copy- writing and editing, quality assessment and some photography. This person will also be responsible for entering and tracking project work flow in the project management system to insure timely delivery of marketing campaigns that are within budget.
In addition, the Marketing Specialist will perform a variety of tasks and therefore must be creative, multi-task oriented, highly motivated, organized and detail oriented. This person must be able to communicate effectively with people inside and outside the organization. The ideal candidate will have excellent creative and project management skills. The Marketing Specialist reports to the Marketing Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Participate in the creative development of traditional and online marketing materials.
Participate in writing, editing and proofreading all print and web content.
Facilitate the work flow of traditional and online marketing projects from inception to completion, insuring seamless flow and timely delivery within established budgetary guidelines.
Enter, track, and bill marketing projects using the College’s project management system
Support marketing staff in collaboration with Academics, Admissions, Advancement and Athletics to establish organizational Marketing Planning Calendar.
Support and assist marketing staff in their respective roles providing communications regarding their projects, timelines, and resource needs.
Oversee the internal production of collateral materials using departmental production equipment.
Maintain effective working relationships with internal clients by providing direction and counsel regarding projects. Work with these clients to create realistic timelines, expectations and deliverables for their projects.
Ensure that high-quality standards are applied to all marketing and production processes and projects, insuring consistency of College’s brand and message.
Communicate with outside vendors to effectively produce projects by securing bids, clarifying specs and timetables, and processing payments.
Manage office functionality including office equipment, ordering of supplies, and record keeping/files and archives as necessary.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be in agreement with the Crown College Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.
Passion for creating visual and written communications.
Excellent written and verbal communications with a flair for writing, editing and solid proofreading, spelling and grammar skills. Willingness to find solutions.
Keen attention to details, organization and follow-through are essential.
Strong self-starter and multi-tasker able to coordinate a large number of projects concurrently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Ability to organize and analyze data, think creatively in order to develop sound recommendations and solutions to achieve strategic business goals.
Ability to create spreadsheets, help establish campaign performance benchmarks and identify key competitive trends will be important.
Keen understanding of marketing, sales and production techniques is necessary.

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications or equivalent
Experience in creative development, writing, project management, time management, budget management.
Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office and/or Apple iWork
Experience in a higher education setting
Writing, editing and publishing skills
Website content management system (CMS) expertise
Familiar with Adobe Creative Suite
