The Cognito Director of Sales & Marketing position requires a highly driven, motivated leader with a proven track record of successfully organizing and managing inbound and outbound sales and marketing efforts across multiple channels. The position is accountable for top line sales production, growth, branding and relationship management, which will include developing and activating sales and marketing strategy, while overseeing the company's sales and marketing team’s day-to-day operations.
The successful candidate will possess the experience and leadership skills required to organize and drive revenue growth and brand equity to achieve or exceed company goals.
Sales Vertical Responsibilities
Sales Strategy, Planning, Execution and Growth:
Develop and execute a sales plan to attain company sales goals in support of the business plan.
Develop sales strategies for all distribution channels, with emphasis on dealer direct business.
Maximize growth in existing business channels and establish and cultivate new markets.
Provide direction, training, and daily support for all sales-related employees and initiatives.
Establish vertical responsibilities, projects, tasks, structure and deadlines for team members.
Training, Team Building & Communication:
Train all sales staff to conduct sales activities at a professional level, and to effectively use CRM and other sales tools, and how to improve their sales techniques.
Direct sales staff on new avenues for sales growth and sales opportunities and then coordinate and adjust as needed.
Communicate effectively with sales team so all are aware of what is expected and what each is responsible for short term and long term.
Educate sales staff and distribution partners on products and new product releases:
Stay informed about industry, market and competition and keep the team in sync and engaged.
Proactively support parallel departments, i.e.; accounting, engineering, production and fulfillment.
Conduct weekly meetings with staff to review progress and adjust initiatives and tasks as needed.
Constantly monitor and coach sales team, require and enforce timelines, deadlines and reporting.
Create and activate product knowledge education programs for distribution partners.
Profitability and Reporting:
Account directly to executive management regarding the status of departmental efficiency, profitability and changes affecting procedures, policy or strategy.
Provide weekly progress reports and use KPIs to demonstrate profitability, functionality, efficiency and improvement strategies and their effectiveness.
Marketing Vertical Responsibilities
Strategy, Planning, Execution and Growth:
Develop and execute a marketing plan and brand strategy that supports company business plan.
Provide continuous SWOT and competitor analysis and adjust marketing tactics as needed.
Develop marketing strategies to strengthen existing core and significantly increase reach and customer base for all sales channels.
Lead the development, evolution and implementation of the company Brand strategies.
Analytics and Reporting:
Review Google Analytics, Google Adwords, sales production performance metrics and correlate reports, confirm or modify tactics and translate into directives.
Adjust marketing techniques and ad spend based on experience, data and analytics.
Weekly reporting and use of KPIs to demonstrate profitability, functionality, efficiency.
Daily monitoring of marketing team and efforts, consistent coaching, to meet deadlines.
Marcoms - Social Media, SEO, Branding and Content:
Direct and oversee all digital marketing, including social media, campaigns, events, PR.
Oversee creation of marketing content, digital across email, website, blog, social media.
Maximize SEO across multiple channels and websites.
Oversee Product Data Management:
Organize and maintain the Master Product Data records.
Control the custody, integrity, storage, access and updating of the PDS archives.
Prepare and administer product data load sheets and manage the distribution of product information.

Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business or relevant discipline
Minimum 5-years sales management experience is required; quantifiable results are necessary.
Minimum 3-years marketing management experience is required; quantifiable results needed.
Must have experience in team building and employee management.
Entrepreneurial mentality, ability to excel in hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong knowledge of automotive aftermarket and powersports industries.
ERP management-level user knowledge and experience (Epicor preferred).
CRM management-level admin, analytics and leveraging experience.
KPI development, implementation, analysis, action and reporting.
Proven B2B/B2C development strategy and results.
Familiarity working with marketing teams to create on point communications.
Success with growing an organization across multiple channels.
