The manager for marketing and social media works with the director of communications to develop and execute marketing plans on behalf of various NLN business units and their products, programs, and services, monitoring adherence to mission, style, and graphics policy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Write and edit copy for a variety of communications vehicles including marketing collateral, presentations, advertising, and website and email promotions, as well as manage production and distribution.
Consult with internal clients and the director of communications to develop and implement marketing communications strategies while maintaining overarching organizational mission and goals.
Manage the production of marketing vehicles, including establishing objectives and deadlines for projects, as well as managing and updating the marketing calendar while coordinating with both internal and external resources and stakeholders.
Conduct market research on current industry trends, consumer insights and competitor analysis while staying ahead of the latest developments in marketing tactics and strategies.
Work with the creative services manager, who oversees the website and design and video projects, on the creative process including copywriting, design, and production for both online and off-line marketing materials including brochures, newsletter articles, direct mail pieces, eblasts, etc.
Serve as backup editor to the website and make content revisions when necessary; also manage blog content posting and backend updates.
Work with the communications staff and the Office of the COO to produce all print and electronic material for annual Education Summit.
Assist with the copy editing and proofreading of NLN public materials.
Manage and oversee social media and digital marketing, including content, research, project management, and analytics and insights.
Work with the web development team on search engine optimization (SEO) strategies and implementation.
Work with the Office of the CEO and other departments on various projects as needed.
Report to the director of communications on Google Analytics for the website and social media and marketing metrics.
Work on other projects and activities as assigned, including stage management for the annual Summit (rehearsals, sound, stage, lighting, video, etc.) and recommend and coordinate on-site marketing activities.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field. Minimum of eight years of experience in marketing and social media. Nonprofit association experience strongly preferred. Strong project management experience and ability to manage resources. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent writing, interpersonal, and collaborative skills. Ability to function independently. Ability to work with others to promote teamwork and meet the needs of the Communications Business Unit and the National League for Nursing and its members.
