The Intern is expected to enhance the overall marketing of the University to prospective students through traditional printed materials, social media, and content development. The yearlong position will require extensive collaboration with our Graphic Designer, Assistant Director of Media Services, and Admissions Office Personnel.
Job Title • Marketing Intern – Office of Admissions
Duration and Schedule • 2018-2019 Academic Year, 10 – 15 hours per week
Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Assist the Director of Admissions with developing marketing materials for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. • Working alongside the Admissions Staff, Faculty, Assistant Director of Media Services, and current students to develop video content for prospective student recruitment. • Maintain and expand upon Admissions Office Social Media platforms in order to increase prospective student awareness and connectivity. o Create relevant and timely content for Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, and other Social Media sites. o Coordinate social media “hornet hours” where prospective students live tweet, snap, message, etc. Admissions Counselors, Current Students, Faculty, and Staff in order to ask questions. o Assist the Admissions Staff with creating virtual and printed content for on and off campus events throughout the Academic Year. o Assist the Student Experience Coordinator with Volunteer and Student Ambassador Recruitment. o Complete other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications • Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Marketing or Communications. • 3.0 GPA or Higher
Preferred Qualifications • One or more years of experience with Social Media, Print, and Video Content Development • Working knowledge of Windows Movie Maker, Apple’s iMovie, Adobe Premiere Pro, or video editing software of equal or greater capability. • Adequate knowledge of how to operate Social Media platforms.
