RILA Seeking Manager, Digital Marketing & Operations
The Retail Industry Leaders Association (RILA) is the US trade association for leading retailers. We convene decision-makers, advocate for the industry, and promote operational excellence and innovation. Our aim is to reimagine and transform the retail ecosystem - and equip leading retailers to succeed in it.
RILA is seeking a highly motivated individual with a passion for excellence and attention to detail to assist our marketing and database department. The successful candidate will be results-driven, creative, an excellent writer, comfortable with technical platforms, and has previous success in creation and implementation of marketing campaigns.
Summary of Position:
The digital marketing & operations manager is responsible for supporting the marketing, conferences, and retail operation functions of RILA. Under the direction of the VP of Marketing Operations & User Strategy, and in collaboration with other staff, this position will be responsible for the strategy and execution of RILA’s marketing initiatives through a variety of channels including e-mail, social media, websites, etc. The manager will also play a role in utilizing the association’s internal platforms (AMS, CMS, E-mail Platform) to engage and define target audiences, report marketing success metrics, and track overall member/attendee engagement.
Position is full time (non-exempt) located in our Arlington, Virginia offices (moving to Southwest DC/Navy Yard area in June 2019)
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field
Minimum of 3 years work experience with at least 1 year of marketing or communications experience, preferably in an association/not-for-profit setting.
Strong knowledge of email marketing platforms to design and distribute emails, create automated campaigns, evaluate performance (Informz, Marketing Cloud, etc.)
Previous experience with AMS platforms (iMIS, netforum, Salesforce, etc) and CMS (Drupal, Wordpress, Kentico, etc.)
Demonstrated experience managing various digital campaign components for marketing platforms and channels
Strong analytical, writing and verbal communication skills
Ability to handle many projects simultaneously and work independently
Working HTML Knowledge (you know the difference between a <p> and <br> tag, can nest a few <div> tags, and can reluctantly use some deprecated HTML if needed)
Experience with common social media platforms (e.g., Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn) in a marketing environment
Google Analytics, and SEO experience helpful
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Travel to RILA conferences and events may be required.
