The Walker School, an independent, co-educational, Pre-K(3) through 12th college-preparatory day school located in Marietta, Georgia, seeks a highly-qualified Director of Communications & Marketing to serve on the administrative team. The Director of Communications & Marketing will be responsible for the strategic development, planning and implementation of the School’s communications and marketing initiatives. The start date for the position is negotiable with a potential start date as early as August 1, 2019.

Oversee all efforts focused in four main areas:
Internal and External School-Wide Communications
Media Relations/Public Relations
Strategic Leadership and Management of the Communications & Marketing staff and budget
The Director of Communications & Marketing will advance the following priorities:
Develop & maintain a strategic and comprehensive communications strategy, with annual communications goals, that advance the School’s mission
Plan and execute programs that enhance the visibility and public perception of Walker and drive increased engagement with prospective and current constituencies
Develop and execute a marketing strategy for student recruitment that centers on the School’s core strengths
Ensure brand messaging quality and consistency across all departments, activities and events at the school; including professional and volunteer leadership
Establish a methodology that enables the school to qualitatively and quantitatively measure communications and marketing strategies and goals
Organize activities that support the admission, marketing and advancement objectives
Ensure clear and transparent communication between and amongst all Walker constituencies
Cultivate new and existing relationships with media outlets and reporters to ensure greater visibility of Walker in the local and regional community.
In conjunction with the administrative team, refine and implement anticipatory strategies for crisis communication.
Establish and manage the Communications & Marketing budget
In conjunction with the Director of Admission, organize and lead monthly meetings of the Board of Trustee’s Marketing & Enrollment committee
Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s, in communications, marketing, public relations or related field
Minimum of five years of demonstrated leadership and experience in the successful development and execution of communications, marketing and public relations strategies
