Summary: The UNC Pembroke Marketing & Promotions Internship provides an outstanding opportunity to learn fundamental marketing strategy and operations. Each intern will receive valuable experience through a variety of special projects and day-to-day interaction. Interns will craft marketing plans, oversee departmental and team social media accounts, work with coaches/staff and lead the outbound marketing efforts for select Olympic sports in addition to playing an important supporting role in the marketing efforts of football, as well as men’s and women’s basketball.
Additional Duties: The successful candidate will possess the self-motivation to develop creative think sessions to implement successful marketing initiatives, social media videos, in-game script features, and internal and external partnerships. He or she will also be able to develop potential new sponsorship ideas, as well as link the strategic plan and vision of athletics department to fan engagement, marketing and promotions. The successful candidate will also possess a high level of creativity and problem-solving skills.
Requirements: Candidates should be team-oriented and be willing to work irregular hours. Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as outstanding organizational skills, are essential. Bachelor’s degree required. The internship is a ten-month position with an anticipated start date of August 1, 2019. Applications will be accepted until June 1, 2019.
