The Director of Sales is responsible for generating revenue through trade show exhibition booths, demonstrations, event sponsorships, leadership and educational sponsorships, advertising in IIBEC technical journal, website, digital sponsorships, and collaboration with related industry partners. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated leader with the ability to multi-task, work independently, or with a team. and is responsible for:
Generating revenue from sponsorships, advertising and exhibitions to meet targets and budget objectives
Identifying and pursuing new areas of opportunity to increase revenue
Securing new partners, sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers while maintaining current relationships
Collaborating with senior executives to establish short and long-term goals and priorities and provide timely information
Maintaining precise records of communications with existing and potential sponsors, exhibitors and advertisers and updating the database as required
Working with executive leadership in the design of the exhibit hall floor plan, contracts and forms, manage and conduct priority space selection process and exhibit booth assignments as well as the sales and service
Working with convention, advertising, and communications departments as well as volunteer committees
Collaborating with industry peers for additional revenue generating opportunities
Providing analytics to advertisers, sponsors, exhibitors and management
Attending IIBEC and industry events and trade shows as required
Providing monthly, quarterly and annual analytical reports and forecasting for budget
Communicating via email, phone and face-to-face meetings to potential clients as tools to effectively sell to exceed revenue targets
Qualified candidates will possess a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent training, plus four to six years of experience in business development
High level of energy to work in fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
Proven track record in sales
Experience in forecasting and budgeting
Exceptional oral and written communication abilities, as well as ability to influence and negotiate
Experience in the building enclosure industry (roofing, waterproofing and exterior walls) or association experience a plus!
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, Access, Photoshop, InDesign, WordPress, Salesforce and databases
Experience with Google Analytics preferred
