You will be responsible for the management of the assigned product lines including product planning, product definition, product margin, promotion, forecasting, product life cycle management, and also responsible for the coordination with development engineering and manufacturing of the activities of strategic business partners relative to assigned products. You will interact frequently with Marketing, Sales and other Rockwell product groups and functions. Responsibilities: 1. Develop short and long range business plans for product lines consistent with market needs and corporate strategic plans. 2. Product promotion and product introduction including sales training. Also responsible for product promotion plan including trade shows, product literature plan, product training plan and product distribution plan to achieve Business Plan objectives for assigned products. Responsible for coordination with Sales, Commercial Marketing, Technical Support and other groups as appropriate to implement the plans. 3. Define the architectural strategy and content of the product line, including performance objectives and functional specifications with cost, price and reliability objectives. 4. Determine product pricing and recommend pricing policies based on established gross margin objectives, product life cycle plans and strategies, and preparation of plans for margin improvement where necessary. Cost data must be obtained from Engineering and Operations to justify product viability initially and must be monitored during product life cycle to insure cost reduction and gross margin objectives. 5. Prepare competitive analysis and formulation of competitive counter strategies for all new products and existing products. 6. Attend technical symposiums and exhibits on industrial control systems to maintain knowledge on available and competitive technology and for presenting papers and seminars as appropriate to promote Rockwell Automation products.
