The Marketing and PR Manager is responsible for implementing marketing and communications efforts of the Richmond Symphony related to promotion of ticket sales, concert attendance, fundraising, engagement programs and other external relationships consistent long-range objectives.
Works closely with Director APC and staff in the design and implementation of the Symphony’s overall promotional strategies
Liaises with staff and from other Symphony departments to assess and implement organizational marketing and communication needs
Oversees the creation and traffic flow of Symphony marketing and promotional collateral
Maintains budget for Marketing & Communications; including tracking, entering and submitting invoices as received
Manages the Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer
Interfaces with media outlets to ensure timely design and placement of all advertising
Writes ad copy and scripts for Symphony print and electronic ads
Manages e-marketing and regular communications with patrons and community
Maintains social media plan and growth strategies in collaboration with other key players
Writes and distributes press releases and places Symphony spokes-people in on-air promotions while maintaining strong relationships with members of the media
With Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer, responsible for website management and maintenance that is aligned with patron needs and departmental priorities
Oversees the creation of playbills for the symphony performances with the Marketing Coordinator & Graphic Designer
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of APC

2-5 years of Marketing/Communication Experience
Interest in the Symphony/Performing Arts a plus
