Advertised Summary Job Description: The Email Marketing Specialist (EMS) will work with the Marketing Department and report to the Director of Design and Web Development. You will contribute to the design and development of new and existing email marketing campaigns for our entire educational portfolio, as well as supporting other SPS departments with email communications operations.
Help to develop and deliver email to our prospects that is informative, engaging, and well designed. Collaborate with the Marketing team and institutional stakeholders to improve on the performance, deliverability, and aesthetics of our email communications. Successful candidates will be familiar with HTML development, and interested in email marketing. The position requires extreme focus and attention to detail, along with the desire to work with a team of dedicated professionals.
The ESM will prepare and build HTML and text based email templates for use in our prospect management system, in accordance with the School's brand guidelines and using content developed by the Marketing team. The EMS will also be required to develop graphic assets for the templates and other email communications. Other activities will include automated campaign development, and prospect database list management. The EMS will also help draft competitive assessments and contribute to design innovation in school communications.
Characteristic Duties: -Prepare and build email templates using Dreamweaver or the Salesforce Pardot native template designer -Format and import prospects lists, and segment audiences in the database -Schedule highly targeted email blasts, including final QA pass -Test templates for deliver-ability and visual quality across a variety of email clients -Prepare variations for A/B testing and execute test plans -Ensure standards for communications are enforced including compliance with the FCC's CAN-SPAM Act and vendors' Terms of Service -Follow communications calendar to ensure template development and email blasts occur on schedule -Report on campaign success and prospect database trends -Other duties as assigned
General Minimum Qualifications: -Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. -Two years related work experience required.
Additional Specific Minimum Qualifications: -Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. -Intellectual curiosity, sound problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and strength in creative and innovative thinking. -Proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel -Exceptional attention to detail, strong organization and time management skills, and the ability to perform non-routine work with changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications: -Familiarity with CMS or Marketing Automation systems -Database development experience (MS Access, FileMaker, etc.) -Knowledge of APIs and plug-in development -Familiarity with Basecamp, Salesforce, or Pardot -Experience working remotely with a technologically connected, but physically distributed team -Proofreading and/or copy editing skills -Knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel and Word -Knowledge of HTML and CSS -Knowledge of Adobe Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and Illustrator -Knowledge of, or desire to learn about; email client limitations, responsive design trends, and communications best practices
