Rappahannock Community College (RCC) invites applications for a Director of Communications, Marketing, and Media. RCCâs Communications and Marketing team is responsible for building internal alignment and external support by: telling the College's story to the outside world; defining and building the Rappahannock Community College brand; and coordinating the provision of useful and timely information to the Rappahannock Community College community. The Director of Communications, Marketing, and Media reports to the Vice President of Instruction and Student Development and coordinates all marketing, communications, media, and special work or projects related to these areas, for the institution. The director works with all constituent groups in the College to develop and implement marketing plans, strategic communications, and other public relations initiatives to enhance Rappahannockâs reputation and awareness among prospective students, faculty and staff; advance strategic goals and objectives; and strengthen support for the College and its mission. This position advises the President and senior administration on communications and marketing strategy and execution. The director oversees the day-to-day activities of the Communications and Marketing Department, including activities such as Creative Designs, Digital and Print Communications, Strategic Communications, College Events and College Information. The director utilizes strong design, multimedia, and presentation skills to constantly freshen the College message and reach audiences in new ways. Communications: The Director leads the College communications team, which oversees both internal and external communications. Externally: responsible for telling Rappahannock Community Collegeâs unique story and value proposition in a way that interests potential students and donors and bolsters the College's academic prestige, supports the College's student enrollment goals, and increases support from alumni and other key stakeholders. Creates marketing and public relations strategies that allow RCCâs leadership to cultivate and enhance meaningful relationships with targeted, high-level external audiences, including the media and other key constituencies. Internally: responsible for communicating College priorities, initiatives and accomplishments in a way that fosters commitment to the College's mission and values, and ensures that faculty and staff are well-informed. Works closely with senior administration and the deans to ensure that major College communications are consistent with strategic objectives across all College work units. Serves as the College's spokesperson when requested by the President or supervisor; and utilizes expert design and media skills to set a dynamic look and message for the College. Marketing and Branding: Develops and implements an integrated marketing plan to advance RCCâs brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences. Works closely with senior administrators and deans to analyze market challenges and opportunities for the purpose of influencing academic outcomes and financial performance. Oversees developing the College's brand profile and Web standards documentation, working closely with internal partners to assure these standards are understood and implemented appropriately. Coordinates groups of marketing and Web stakeholders to ensure consistency throughout the College's Web presence. Presidential and Vice Presidential Advisor: Advises the President and Vice President of Instruction and Student Development on all aspects of marketing, branding and communications. Identifies challenges and emerging issues faced by the College, works with leadership teams and staff to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and defines and executes appropriate strategies. Works closely with senior administration on internal and external communications and marketing strategy and execution.
